Psalm 1:3-4; Romans 12:1-2; 1Peter 2:9; Joshua 1:8

When I read through the Bible I love to search out a topic or a theological reality. It’s something that helps me understand what Scripture is teaching. I like to own my beliefs and The Scriptures are the best teacher for offering that.

Years ago the Lord had me go through, “if then” passages; “but God“ passages and the last one I did about 5 years ago was “And then” and “that you.”

Those passages include, “therefore,” as well. Basically the “And then” and “that you,” are expressed after a truth about God is stated, then it will continue with the responsibility of the Child of God.

We easily rhapsodize in the truth about God or his loving communication of his promises. Too many of us don’t recognize these

passages then communicate a responsibility for those of us in his Son.

We have a responsibility to obey God. We cannot read any passage like these at the beginning of this blog and NOT obey our call to, whatever that call is. Our responsibility is always attached to a truth about God. That is because it is in Him these actions emanate.

Pay attention to the “AND THEN”, also the “THAT YOU“ parts of these passages. Of course after luxuriating in the truth about God and his promises. If you truly love that truth about him, you must be spurred into obedience with the “And then“ or “that you.” One doesn’t come without the other.
