Leaving Truth; step by step

We are living in unprecedented times. Defining a woman by biology is frowned upon and defined as phobic. Sensible people say, "men can have babies," simply because a woman wants to identify as a man. Transgenderism is pushed on children in classrooms, along with sexual orientation lessons. That is being done in a way that is dismantling the voice of parents. While there is nothing new under the sun, as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes, these illogical realities have left so many stravaged, fearful of speaking against this indoctrination. Do we accept lies for fear?

The Bible addresses the steps one takes that allow for walking away from the Truth. In the movie "A Few Good Men," I understand why the Colonel could rebuke, "You can't handle the truth!" Even how Pilate, with Jesus in front of him, would ask, "what is truth?" He did not stay around to hear the answer from the epitome of Truth or the actual Truth right before him. The former, the Colonel, considered Truth all about him. He patronized the attorney challenging him as not being about to understand the Truth; it was he, the Colonel, who exchanged the Truth for a lie, hidden by his pride. By the end of the movie, you could see he did not even have a hint that he left the truth for his subjective reality. The latter, Pilate, was not looking for Truth. He, too, patronized and did not wait to hear the answer. Our society has exchanged "Truth" for subjectivity as "my truth." Those who take the steps, leaving Truth, are so condescending and do not even see that they are the problem, believing a lie.

Truth is not relative. What's true for you has to be true, period, or it is a lie. Truth is defined as "that which corresponds with reality." When we define it subjectively, we begin to create a fantasy or, as we see today, a nightmare.

Steps to Steeping yourselves into deception - Leaving Truth:

1. Turning from the Truth - 2 Timothy 4:4 3 "For the time will come when they do not endure sound doctrine, but according to their desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." I know many of you know someone who has made that choice. It hurts because we know there are severe consequences, and not everyone comes back. Our daughters have varied obstacles to not choosing the LORD. They have turned from the Truth. It is so sad for their dad and me. They have turned away, and their decisions go from question to anger. When I listen to them, I hear, sadly, that they want to redefine Truth. Those who had a hold on the Truth and now reject it need our prayers. We need to ask God not to let them perish in this condition. Let's not give up. That is the first step to leaving truth for fables.

2. Suppress the Truth - Romans 1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness." Turning from the Truth is one thing; attempting to prevent it from being discovered is another. When someone knows the Truth, been taught it as a child, heard it because at one time it flowed free in our Country, there is a price to pay for suppressing it. Turning from it says, "I don't want to believe that." Suppressing it says, "I will not believe that!" As conviction comes, rejection of that conviction is more obstinant. The truth will nag at the conscience, pull at the sensibilities, and remind of its existence. Those who are hardening will make up lies to move through this. The fables become more logical. That is where canceling comes into place. Folks who suppress the Truth must cancel it becomes it becomes a harmful competitor. Suppressing the Truth is the attempt to keep it silent.

3. Resisting the Truth - 2 Timothy 3:8 "Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds disapproved concerning the faith."

That is where I believe we've landed today. Those who resist the truth cannot just let others believe it. These people fight against Truth with all they can. Those who hold to truth must be destroyed at all costs. It doesn't matter if they lose their jobs or their lives. The resisting of Truth comes with hatred and malice toward those who hold to it. More importantly, Truth tellers must continue to be willing to speak openly. Truth tellers cannot fall in line. Sadly, because of that, they must be destroyed. It has gone from "my truth" to "truth" (lies) that must become everyone's "truth" (lie) or else." Resisting the truth is to argue or fight against it. Truth is threatening to those who want it to go away.

4. Exchange the Truth - Romans 1:25 "who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." The human soul looks for meaning and purpose based on reality. Something else must be sought after to fill the void when reality is not their option. We see the substitutions now; men can have babies. Men can have female parts; women can have male parts. There is no clear definition of "What is a woman?" Not even educated, ordinarily sensible people are willing to answer that question concisely or at all. In Jeremiah 9:5, he says, "They have taught their tongue to speak lies." That is the only explanation for why people can use a pronoun such as "they" for a single male or female. That lie must be practiced and normalized to take a plural pronoun and adapt it as a singular identity. There are so many examples of the nonsense today that they must teach their tongues to say without blushing or hearing the idiocy so they can speak with authority—those who have not exchanged the Truth look on perplexed at the unreasonableness of these things.

Now when we hear the crazy coming from teachers, doctors, media personalities, and, sadly, some of our loved ones, we know they are following the steps of leaving the Truth. God's Word brings so much clarity to what has happened and what is happening. We do not need to throw up our hands and give up. We need to be the kind of parents who, like Job, prayed for his children regularly just in case they sinned against the Lord. If our kids have turned from the Truth, we need to pray voraciously. We need to ask God to forgive our children, our loved ones, and our Nation. At the same time, they are responsible for their sin. When we ask God to forgive them, it's similar to Jesus and Stephen asking forgiveness for those who put them to death. While they must repent themselves, we aren't holding their sin against them; we ask God to grant them repentance. We ask God on behalf of our leaders and those who are denying God's Truth to bring them back to their senses, like the Prodigal son. We should desire that none would perish, but all will come to repentance. We know "all" won't, but we also do not know who will.

Recognizing these steps helps us understand what people are doing. This has landed our Nation in a scary place in the face of a Holy God. Until there is no air in our lungs, we need to pray. Leaving the truth is dangerous and is bringing a hardening. Yet, we know while it is impossible for men to turn others from their sin, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!
