2 Corinthians 7:1 "Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God."

God's promises don't release us to say, "Yes” to the slavery of Self... self actualization; self aggrandizing; self centeredness; self focused;" They set us free to say, "Yes” to the freedom that's in Him. This is not from trying harder but relying on His faithfulness. That’s what He commands of us, He empowers us for, through the His Spirit and a new nature. Again, only when we stop focusing on “self.”

In this society where "Self” is god and lord, we must surrender quickly and often to get rid of self-love. An unhealthy relationship with self can become “god.” It’s a love that actually kills. Everywhere we look and everything made for life shouts, “look out for ’yourself!’”

No wonder so many people are miserable and reaching for the constant "Me" fix. Always looking for the next thing to make “ME“ happy. Fearing God is the first place to truly find out who “Selg” is. There you realize “Self” needs to die (spirirually) so "Me" can really live.

Only in ”HIM” can we get rid of the, “Me, Me, Me“ mindset and receive the mind of Christ.
