The Power of God’s Law

As I was studying Psalm 19:7 “The Law of the Lord is perfect, Converting the soul,” Romans 8:4 “For what the Law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh...” came to mind. It drove me to look into how The Law restores, or revives the soul if it’s weak through the flesh? And in the flesh there is death, enmity against God, and we cannot please Him.

Then I thought of Romans 8:6 “but you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit.” The Spirit of the Law that gives life to our mortal body is how God uses his Law to Convert our souls or turns our souls back to Him. It offers us a true conversion and in that conversion, it brings restoration and revitalization that makes us wise as we learn about God through His testimony (self- disclosure).

For me to dispel what appeared to be a touch confusing I realized to receive the promise of Psalm 19:7 I cannot be in the flesh. The law has no power in the flesh. I need to be subject to God’s Word in order to receive its power of Change over my life, inside/out.

This is how memorizing becomes understanding to me. What things do you do to allow the Truths you’re memorizing to penetrate your heart as it enters your head?
