When things appear to contradict

“Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.

The LORD will not allow the righteous soul to famish, But he cast away the desire of the wicked.” Proverbs 10:2-3

Verses like these sometimes cause people agitation because they appear contradictory to real life. This is why looking at the Proverbs as instructions for wise living and not iron clad promises for the immediate is essential.

We see in real time what appears to be the opposite of the aforementioned verses. Folks, then accuse God and His Words of not being True. However, the truth these verses bring out about God are absolutely accurate. Verse after verse in Scripture denotes the character of God, for righteousness, justice while in the process of arriving there, offering mercy and giving grace to those who mourn their sin, and turn from it.

The Earth will be calibrated, by the Lord himself.

The word to each of us from these verses is encouragement. Live as those who have found Wisdom, live wisely and in the righteousness of Jesus himself. Avoid completely, living as the wicked. Whether in time, which I believe we will see, or once the Lord returns we will be found as sheep, not goat; wheat not tares; nor chaff that His Wind will blow away.

Don’t lose hope if the opposite of these verses seem to be our reality. The God of this Wisdom is still true to His Word. Will you trust though you can’t see?
